The 2012 Technical Report on Circumcision by the American Academy of Pediatrics,
(supported by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists) states:“Male circumcision does not appear to adversely affect
penile sexual function/sensitivity or sexual satisfaction.”How do THEY know this?
The majority of infant male circumcisions in the U.S. are performed by obstetricians who will never again see their male 'patients' whose genitals they altered at birth!
Most pediatricians never see their child patients beyond the early- to mid-teen years.
According to the GSCH, only 24% of respondents circumcised as infants became aware of their harm before age 13. Another 36% became aware between ages 13 and 19 and another 20% became aware between ages 20 and 29. Obstetricians and pediatricians are out of the picture by the time males discover their circumcision harm!
Has any OB/GYN or pediatrician asked ANY of the male patients whom they circumcised how the surgery has affected them physically, sexually or psychologically - much less conducted ANY study of the outcomes in later teen and early adult life?
It takes a high degree of awareness AND moral courage for ANY male of ANY age to approach ANY doctor to tell them there is something wrong with their penis! Survey respondents indicate that they do not universally seek help from one professional (like a urologist), but rather a wide array of professionals (family physician, psychologist, sexologist) depending on the type of harm they experience. There is no one professional body studying this harm!
Both the AAP and ACOG know there are no such studies. They are deliberately misleading the public with their 'monkey business'.
Monkey Business: Informal mischievous, suspect, dishonest, or meddlesome behaviour or acts.

By asking us to pay attention to how many times the ball is passed, the narrator is like the U.S. medical community who asks the public and the media to only pay attention to alleged medical benefits of infant circumcision.
They hope we'll ignore what's obvious to anyone who's really paying attention, that in the case of circumcision, the 'gorilla' is the inherent harm of circumcising normal, healthy children.
But they also hope to distract us from two other key elements:1) What's missing? A player from the black team drops out during the game. What's missing from the circumcision debate? They're hoping we won't notice that they omit any education or discussion about the important functions and benefits of the foreskin!
2) Times have changed, just like the curtain backdrop! The change of background curtain colour is analogous to the fact that times have changed, not only since the days of Abraham, but even since the mid-20th Century when infant circumcision reached its zenith in American society. Modern concepts of medical ethics and human rights constitute the new background against which infant circumcision must now be judged. Unlike other international medical associations, the AAP deliberately ignores these issues!
